Why I made this: Starting my day with peace, joy, and gratitude is super important to me, and I hope this mug will bring you to the same place. In this particular piece, the purple and green bubbles opposite the handle is a combination that I like a lot. They're both kind of bassy colors, so at first I didn't really consider using them together. As you can see in the pictures though, the green stays pretty consistent, but the purple changes a lot depending on the angle - sometimes it's clearly purple, and other times it feels almost black. There isn't any iridescence in the paint, it's just colors in juxtaposition doing all the work.
Living with this piece: The smooth, satiny clear coat feels really good under the fingers, but the texture of the paint still stands out just a little bit. If you've always wanted to touch the art in a museum, you're really going to love this feature of my work.
