Why I made this:
This collection is a natural extension of the work I do with the Camp Cups - same idea, but on a slightly different form. I love the huge variety of outcomes that my relatively simple idea can achieve - each of these pieces is comprised of a stripe section, a solid section, and two pattern sections.

These pieces are discounted because of a surface preparation error, the result of which is that the paint did not adhere as well as it should have. The original finish on the bottle that MiiR applied is 1st quality; the error came in my decoration process. Still totally usable, but know that the finish will not last like it should.

I learned a lot by making this mistake - first and foremost, how to fully vet a process change before scaling up. Even if it seems like a familiar 'same-but-different' shift, I have to start from the beginning of the process and re-affirm that each step along the way is going to be a success. Frustrating lesson to learn, but it has improved all of my subsequent work.

Living with this piece:
The matte clear coat feels really good under the fingers, but the texture of the paint still stands out just a little bit. If you've always wanted to touch the art in a museum, you're really going to love this feature of my work.
