Why I made this: Brushed ti and matte black bikes are crying out for color, and I'm here to deliver it!
I was recently in talks with a few component manufacturers, considering partnership to import and customize bicycle components. This series of forks was a test run to see if scaling the art production was going to be a sustainable activity on my end or if it would be better to have the forks painted at the manufacturer before import. In the end, the possibility (...inevitability) of shifting technical standards led us to not moving forward with the idea. But! The test pieces are now available to bring some flavor to your bike.
As an added bonus, because I got the forks for free, I am able to pass those savings along to you and set the asking price at what I charge for the paint alone.
This particular fork is slightly discounted because it was my first time using a commercial gloss clear coat. It came out pretty well, but not perfect, so I gave a little discount for that.

Living with this piece: The smooth, matte clear coat feels really good under the fingers, but the texture of the paint still stands out just a little bit. If you've always wanted to touch the art in a museum, you're really going to love this feature of my work.
